by Andrea Zander

The Dow Jones Precious Metals Index picked up in October, recording a one-month total return of 6.59 percent as of Oct. 29.

However, the Index is down 10.34 percent year-to-date and shows a –14.81 percent loss for the 12-month period ended Oct. 29.

The performance follows two strong years; the Index posted a total return of 27.5 percent in 2020 and 49.64 percent in 2019.

The Index is designed to measure the performance of U.S.-listed stocks of companies engaged in the exploration and production of gold, silver and platinum-group metals.
