CPP Investment Board appoints new senior managing director

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has appointed John Graham as senior managing director.

He will lead the credit investments team. In this role, Graham will be responsible for leading the principal credit investments, private real estate debt and the newly created public credit functions. In his 10 years at CPPIB, Graham worked in both the total portfolio management group and in private investments. Graham took on the leadership of principal credit investments in 2015 as managing director and global head of the group. Prior to joining CPPIB, Graham spent nine years at Xerox Innovation Group in research and strategy roles.

CPPIB also appointed Suyi Kim as senior managing director and head of Asia Pacific. As head of Asia Pacific, Kim is responsible for overseeing CPPIB’s significant and growing portfolio of investments in the region. Kim joined CPPIB in 2006, establishing CPPIB’s office in Hong Kong, following which she launched and led CPPIB’s private equity Asia business before taking on the role of managing director and head of Asia. Kim has more than 15 years of private equity investment experience, including at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and at The Carlyle Group. Kim also worked at McKinsey & Co. in various Asian countries and at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
