Cbus Super names head of total portfolio management

Cbus Super, Australia’s super fund for the building, construction and allied industries, has appointed Mark Ferguson as head of total portfolio management.

Ferguson joins Cbus from APRA, where he recently served as head of investment risk. In his new role, Ferguson will be responsible for the asset allocation, capital markets, and portfolio execution and quantitative solutions teams.

According to Kristian Fok, CIO of Cbus, the fund has made a number of critical appointments this year as part of its internalization drive. This is the latest.

“This appointment further strengthens Cbus’ overall investment capability and continues our strategy to build our level of expertise in-house,” said Fok. “This enables Cbus to respond quickly to opportunities and negotiate directly for the best investment outcomes for our members.”
