CBRE releases its global investor intentions survey

As the global economy bounces back from the pandemic-induced downturn, CBRE’s 2021 Global Investor Intentions Survey highlights the major strategies and asset preferences of global investors.

Investors are not only beginning to deploy more capital but moving out on the risk curve. A record 24 percent of survey respondents are targeting opportunistic and distressed assets in 2021. Investors in the Americas appear to have the greatest risk appetite, while those in EMEA appear to be the most risk averse. APAC investors appear to be adopting a two-tier strategy, focusing primarily on core assets but also attracted to opportunistic and distressed assets.

Investors around the world are increasingly embracing ESG criteria in their investment strategies, with Europe and the Middle East leading the way.
