Todd Sammann has joined CBRE Global Investors as an executive managing director to lead the credit strategies platform in the Americas.

Sammann joins the firm from Narrative Capital Management, which he founded in 2015. Prior to forming Narrative Capital, Sammann was a principal and head of credit strategies at Colony Capital from 2008–2015. Previously, Sammann was head of U.S. large loan CMBS at Deutsche Bank from 2002–2008 and vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1996–2002. During his 20-plus-year career, he has deployed more than $50 billion across a variety of debt strategies and investment vehicles and has launched and led specialty finance companies.

Sammann will be joined by colleagues from Narrative with extensive experience in real estate credit investment and management, including: Charles Kim and Ed Paje in Los Angeles and Christian Fuqua and Eric Anderson in New York.

CBRE Global Investors has been investing in credit strategies in the Americas since 2009 with more than $1 billion in credit investments.

“Our investor clients look to us to provide a breadth of real estate opportunities across the real estate and real assets spectrum and to do so at a high level,” said David Morrison, CIO-Americas for CBRE Global Investors. “We continue to see long-term structural trends in the markets that provide excellent opportunities for our investor base to make real estate credit strategies a larger portion of their overall real estate and real asset portfolio.”
