Casey Wolf named new CIO for Texas County

by Jody Barhanovich

Casey Wolf has been selected as the new chief investment office for the Texas County & District Retirement System.

Wolf succeeds Paul Williams, who recently announced his retirement after 22 years with the pension fund. Williams’ retirement is scheduled for spring 2018. Under Williams’ investment leadership, the fund has grown from $7 billion when he was promoted to CIO in 1999 to more than $29 billion today.

Wolf has gained extensive knowledge of the fund while serving as managing director. With his team, Wolf managed both the hedge fund and opportunistic credit portfolios in addition to working on existing as well as potential investments.

Wolf said he looks, “forward to continuing his [Williams’] legacy and vision for TCDRS and for the opportunity to work with our trustees, managers, advisers and staff in managing TCDRS’ investments in a thoughtful and prudent manner.”
