by Kali Persall

Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners, an open-end fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management, has collected more than $5 billion of capital commitments, according to an SEC filing from Aug. 13.

According to the filing, 116 investors have backed the fund.

Launched in 2018, the fund is looking to invest in infrastructure assets, such as transportation and utilities, in the United States.

In early August, a consortium consisting of Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan acquired a combined 50 percent stake in Scotia Gas Networks, the second-largest gas distribution network in the United Kingdom. Brookfield acquired a 37.5 percent stake.
