Brookfield continues to raise capital for open-ended fund

Brookfield Asset Management has raised $1.37 billion in additional capital for its open-ended fund, Brookfield Premier Real Estate Partners, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.

Brookfield Premier Real Estate Partners is the firm’s latest core real estate fund. The fund, which opened in 2016, primarily invests in gateway cities throughout North America. The fund reached the $1 billion mark earlier this year.

The fund has received capital from multiple investors, including $50 million from the $15.3 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund.

Brookfield is also receiving equity for its latest opportunistic vehicle, Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners III, which seeks to raise $10 billion in total equity commitments.
