IQHQ, a biotech-focused real estate REIT, has paid $216 million to acquire the 416-room Hyatt Regency La Jolla Aventine hotel in San Diego, according to multiple news sources. The seller was Singapore-based GAW Capital Partners.

As part of the deal, IQHQ also acquired the 22,000-square-foot Aventine Atrium building located next to the hotel for $11 million.

This was the second-largest hotel deal in San Diego by total price during the past five years.
