AXA IM Alts names Laurent Lavergne global head of sustainability

AXA IM Alts has appointed Laurent Lavergne to the newly created role of global head of sustainability, effective Oct. 1.

Lavergne, who has been at AXA IM Alts since 1994, will be responsible for the development and deployment of the firm’s sustainability strategy across its real estate, infrastructure, alternative credit, and natural capital and impact investments business lines.

Lavergne also will assume the current responsibilities of Justin Travlos, global head of responsible investment, which were primarily focused on real estate and infrastructure. Travlos is leaving AXA IM Alts toward the end of 2023 after five years with the business.

Lavergne will be a voting member of the investment committee for direct investments (real estate, infrastructure equity and natural capital), and he will oversee the ongoing implementation of AXA IM Alts’ ambitious decarbonization strategy across the business’ direct investments in these sectors.
