Australia’s Lutheran Super anticipates merger with Mercer Super

by Kali Persall

Australia’s Lutheran Super has plans to merge into the Mercer Super Trust in the fourth quarter of the year, according to several news reports.

Lutheran Super is the only super fund dedicated solely for the benefit of the employees of the Lutheran Church of Australia. Mercer Super has a  long-term partnership with Lutheran Super, having provided administration, investment management and consulting services for the fund for a number of years.

“From the outset, we have sought a merger partner that could deliver the best retirement outcomes possible for our members,” said John Grocke, chair of Lutheran Super. “Following a rigorous process, we’re pleased to have chosen the Mercer Super Trust, where our members will access a wider range of services, options and personalized support to get the most out of their super or pension.”

At the end of May, it was announced that BT Super also would merge into the Mercer Super Trust.
