Alaska Permanent Fund promotes Marcus Frampton to CIO

The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation has promoted Marcus Frampton, CFA, CAIA to serve as the new CIO.

“After considering many highly qualified applicants for the CIO position, the board is convinced that Marcus is best situated to continue the remarkable success the Permanent Fund investment portfolio has recently experienced,” said chair Craig Richards.

Frampton, who was previously the head of real assets and absolute return, had been serving as acting CIO. He takes over as CIO after Russell Read, CFA, Ph.D., resigned from the position as CIO for the fund in July. Read left to pursue an opportunity based out of London. He served as a member of APFC’s executive team since May 2016.
