New York becomes first state to place a moratorium on hyperscale data centers

On July 14, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order to create the nation’s first moratorium on new hyperscale data centers. The order temporarily pauses state environmental permits for up to one year while policymakers work to build a regulatory framework that protects ratepayers, the environment, the energy grid and communities across the state.

PSERS report posts strong annual and long-term returns

The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) has shown strong long-term annualized investment returns, demonstrating returns of 8.5 percent throughout a three-year period, 7.4 percent through five years and 8.4 percent through 10 years, as of March 31.
