Mike Consol is senior editor of Real Assets Adviser, one of seven titles published by Institutional Real Estate, Inc. (IREI), and is responsible for the magazine’s editorial content and production. He has been a professional journalist since 1983 and has spent almost his entire career working for business publications. Mike joined IREI in 2012 as editor of Institutional Real Estate Americas. Prior to IREI, he spent 17 years with American City Business Journals, the nation’s largest publisher of metropolitan business journals with 40 weekly newspapers across the United States. While at ACBJ, he held editor and publisher roles at the Portland Business Journal, East Bay Business Times and San Francisco Business Times. He was also the company’s first-ever writing and reporting coach. Prior to ACBJ, he was managing editor of the Los Angeles Business Journal, as well as news editor of the Pasadena Star-News. Mike, a native of upstate New York, earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Arizona State University.
Gina Szymanski

Gina Szymanski is a Managing Director of AEW and Portfolio Manager in the firm’s Real Estate Securities Group where she is also a member of the Global Securities Allocation Committee. Prior to joining AEW, Ms. Szymanski worked at Putnam Investments for over 15 years where she was the REIT portfolio manager for Putnam's Research Fund, a senior member of the Global Equity Research team, and a portfolio member of the Quantitative Equity Research team. Prior to joining Putnam Investments, she held finance positions at CIBC World Markets and Matson Driscoll & Damico Ltd. In 2019, she was selected as the winner of Bonhill’s 2019 Women in Asset Management Award for the Real Estate category. She earned an Honors Bachelor of Mathematics in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a CFA charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.
John Worth

John D. Worth is the Executive Vice President for Research and Investor Outreach at Nareit, where he leads Nareit’s internal and external research efforts and directs Nareit’s investor outreach and education initiatives. Prior to joining Nareit, Worth founded the Office of the Chief Economist of the National Credit Union Administration, spent nearly a decade at the U.S. Treasury where he served as the Director of the Office of Microeconomic Analysis and served as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Microeconomics, and worked as a consultant for Welch Consulting and the RAND Corporation. He is a graduate of George Washington University and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Southern California.
