Emerging markets are bursting with potential, and savvy infrastructure investors are taking notice. Strong fundamentals such as rapid population growth, urbanization and rising demand for services are creating a significant need for infrastructure investment, and emerging markets can offer a wealth of uniquely attractive opportunities across sectors.

But not all emerging markets are created equal, and negative investor perception, along with fears of currency volatility, political risk and complex regulatory environments, still prevent many investment professionals from tapping into these markets. Although there are justified challenges and hesitations surrounding emerging markets, there are also some misconceptions, and investment professionals who have found success in these countries believe the risk is worth the reward.
