Shareholders Approve Macquarie-WCA Deal

Macquarie Infrastructure Partners II’s $526 million acquisition of Houston-based WCA Waste Corp. received the approval of WCA shareholders on March 8. The acquisition was expected to close by the end of first quarter 2012. Under the terms of the agreement and plan of merger, holders of WCA common stock will receive $6.50 per share in cash.

WCA Waste Corp., a solid-waste services company that provides collection, transfer and disposal services, controls operations that consist of 22 landfills, 24 transfer stations/material recovery facilities and 25 collection operations located throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

Macquarie also owns Waste Industries USA Inc.
