It is sometimes hard to believe Institutional Investing in Infrastructure is approaching its 10th year in publication. IREI launched i3 in 2008, first as a quarterly print publication and supplement for the i3 conference, and then as a monthly digital publication as the financial crisis hit and resources were pinched. With our November issue, we return to printing i3 on a quarterly basis to help supplement our digital version and as a first step toward seeing through our original objective when we first set out — to be a monthly print “magaletter,” part newsletter and part magazine.

Most publications have a difficult time getting off the ground — by one measure 90 percent of publications ultimately fail, and 50 percent don’t survive the first year — and i3 has had its share of ups and downs.
