Fengate Fund Raises $600 Million

Fengate Capital Management Ltd. has raised more than $600 million of equity capital for Canadian infrastructure investment with the recent closing of two funds, Fengate Greenfield Infrastructure Fund and Fengate Infrastructure Fund VI.

Toronto-based Fengate Capital is a private equity firm, specializing in infrastructure and real estate investments for institutional investors. The fund raising brings the firm’s total assets under management to more than $1.2 billion for Canadian pension funds seeking to match their long-term pension liabilities with long-term cash yielding investments.

The funds target investments in social infrastructure — schools, hospitals and courthouses — transportation, energy and other infrastructure assets procured by the government through a long-term public-private partnership model.
