Digital reciprocity: The next frontier in the AI infrastructure race

The year 2025 will likely go down in history as the inflection point for artificial intelligence (AI). From announcements in major AI infrastructure projects to historic new investments in chip-making facilities and energy production, AI-related news has become almost a daily affair as the world enters the fourth industrial revolution, or the AI revolution.

U.S. President Donald Trump kicked off the first major announcement of his second term with the $500 billion Stargate Project initiated by OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle, touted then as the largest AI infrastructure project in the United States. Not to be outdone, countries across Europe, the Middle East and Asia also announced new mega-projects to build out their AI infrastructure. On the back of this burgeoning demand for AI technologies, Nvidia became the first public company ever to hit a market capitalization of more than $4 trillion in July 2025, and then $5 trillion in October.
