Brookings Institution puts focus on infrastructure workforce development

The Brookings Institution hosted a meeting Jan. 25 in Washington, D.C., with members of the Departments of Labor, Commerce and Transportation, as well as representatives from the National League of Cities, the National Association of State Energy Officials and the Eno Center for Transportation. The discussion focused on how federal, state and local government can help develop the workforce needed to implement recently passed U.S. infrastructure legislation.

The event covered efforts between federal, state and local agencies, and philanthropic organizations focused on allocating funds to workforce development projects that will support the design, development, construction and operation of infrastructure projects coming online from recently passed legislation.
