BNP Paribas Clean Energy Partners has raised €437 million ($597 million) from a range of institutional investors, including insurers, local authorities and pension funds from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan and other Asian countries.

The fund completed its first close in September 2009, which included a commitment from BNP Paribas Investment Partners.

The clean energy infrastructure fund targets assets with underwritten cash flows and the potential for capital enhancement. It focuses on onshore wind, small-scale hydro, solar photovoltaic and biomass, and it has made investments in Italian solar power and French and Irish wind farms.
