3i India Infrastructure Invests in KMC Infratech Ltd.

The $1.2 billion 3i India Infrastructure Fund, an investment vehicle run by international investor 3i Group PLC, is investing $111.51 million in KMC Infratech Ltd. (KMCIL), a subsidiary of KMC Constructions Ltd. (KMCCL) that controls a portfolio of 10 road projects in India totaling 5,000 lane kilometers.

3i India Infrastructure Fund consists of investments that focus on power, road, ports and airports. Since its inception, the fund has invested in Adani Power Ltd., Soma Enterprises Ltd., Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd. and VK Energy Ltd.

Cressida Hogg, managing partner of 3i Infrastructure, says, “We are delighted to be partnering with KMCIL in a sector where we already have some experience in India and to add this attractive asset to the portfolio to further strengthen our investments in the fund.”
