W&T Offshore, Inc., an independent oil and natural gas producer with operations offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, has been determined as the apparent high bidder on two blocks in the Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 257, held by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) on Nov. 17.
The two shallow water blocks were Eugene Island South Addition block 385 and Ship Shoal South Addition block 360, and cover a total of 10,000 gross acres.
If awarded, the company will pay $295,000 for the combined leases, which have a term of five years.
This week, Talos Energy Inc. also emerged as the apparent high bidder for 10 deepwater blocks in the Outer Continental Shelf Federal Lease Sale 257, led by BOEM.
