The WSIB puts capital in Stonepeak, Global Infrastructure Partners funds

The Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) has approved a slew of commitments to infrastructure funds.

The pension fund slated an investment of up to $500 million in Stonepeak’s Core Fund strategy. The fund is an open-ended vehicle managed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and targets mature infrastructure investments within key focus areas, including communications, energy transition, and transportation and logistics, primarily across OECD countries.

The WSIB has committed more than $2.4 billion across all four of Stonepeak’s flagship funds and two co-investment vehicles.

The board’s independent consultant, Aksia, also recommended an investment of up to $300 million Global Infrastructure Partners Core Fund. Raised by Global Infrastructure Partners, the fund also will target investment opportunities in the core segment of the infrastructure landscape across OECD countries.
