Vocus Group, an international telecom company headquartered in Australia, has submitted an offer to acquire some of rival TPG Telecom’s nonmobile fiber assets in a A$6.3 billion ($4.1 billion) deal.
On Aug. 1, TPG released a letter in response to an article in the Australian Financial Review, which announced the potential sale. TPG said it previously announced a strategic review of its wholesale residential fixed access business, Vision Network, in October 2022. Following the announcement, TPG received a number of nonbinding expressions of interest in its fixed network infrastructure assets. As part of that process, Vocus Group made an indicative, highly conditional, non-binding offer to acquire certain TPG’s enterprise, government and wholesale assets, and associated fixed infrastructure assets, including Vision Network, for approximately A$6.3 billion.
