Utah ranks No. 1 for best infrastructure in U.S.

In a study ranking U.S. states with the best infrastructure, Utah has emerged at the top of the list, due to short commute times and better broadband coverage.

The study titled States With the Best Infrastructure – 2019 Edition, conducted by SmartAsset, compared states across eight metrics related to road, bridge and public transportation quality, as well as internet coverage, water system needs and electric grid reliability.

The top-ranking states were spread out geographically, with the first 10 composed of three states in the West, two in the Northeast, three in the Midwest and two in the South.
