US Solar Fund snaps up solar portfolio in Oregon

by Kali Persall

US Solar Fund has inked a deal with Southern Current to purchase a 61-megawatt solar portfolio in Oregon, according to several news sources.

The portfolio consists of four projects currently under construction that are expected to begin operations in the second and third quarters of this year. They have entered into long-term power purchase agreements to sell their energy to an investment-grade offtaker, reported Renewables Now.

The deal is expected to close by the first half of 2020.

In January, the London-listed investment company said it had acquired a 177-megawatt portfolio of 22 operating utility-scale solar power projects in Oregon, California and North Carolina, from an affiliate of Heelstone Renewable Energy.

The Oregon portfolio acquisition brings US Solar Fund’s total utility-scale solar asset count to 37 sites.
