A new U.S. data center company known as Saragon has launched with $1 billion of backing from I Squared Capital.
Built to serve the growing demand for colocation, high-density computing and artificial intelligence (AI) inference infrastructure, Saragon launched with 10 data centers across nine major U.S. markets, 53 megawatts of installed power capacity and significant room for expansion.
Saragon was established following I Squared’s acquisition of 10 data center facilities from Cogent Fiber, a subsidiary of Cogent Communications, for $225 million in cash. The portfolio spans Atlanta, Baltimore; Chicago; Houston; Kansas City, Mo.; Los Angeles, Nashville; Phoenix; and Stockton, Calif., serving a combined population of more than 63 million people.
