Nest, a U.K. pension scheme geared toward the workforce, has tapped Octopus Renewables to lead a £250 million ($347 million) renewable investment effort, according to various news sources.
Octopus will carry out investments in renewable infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom and Europe throughout 2021, and possibly beyond. According to Renewables Now, the initiative will be carried out in line with the pension fund’s efforts to become a net-zero-carbon investor.
On behalf of Nest, Octopus Group will assess a wide range of assets, regions and technologies across all stages of the renewable lifecycle and will also explore growth opportunities in the wider energy transition.
Octopus Renewables currently manages a £3 billion ($4 billion) global portfolio of solar and wind assets.
