Tumbleweed Midstream, an independent natural gas gathering and processing company, has acquired the Ladder Creek Helium Plant and Gathering System located near the Colorado-Kansas border.
DCP Midstream, which has owned the plant since 1999, sold the asset for an undisclosed amount.
The Ladder Creek Helium Plant and Gathering System serves natural gas producers operating in eastern Colorado and western Kansas, which includes the Morrow, Mississippian, Spergen, Chester and Marmaton formations, according to Tumbleweed. The plant was built by Union Pacific Resources in 1997 to separate helium from the natural gas stream and liquefy it for transport to market.
Ladder Creek’s gathering and distribution infrastructure includes 730 miles of pipeline.
