TRIG to acquire rights to three battery-storage sites in England

The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG), a London-listed investment company advised by InfraRed Capital Partners as investment manager and renewable energy systems as operations manager, has exchanged contracts to acquire the right to develop three battery-storage sites in North England.

Once constructed, two of the projects — totaling 165 megawatts — are scheduled for grid connection and commencement of operations in 2024 and 2025. Once the first two projects are built, the investment will represent about 4 percent of the portfolio, by value. The third site, which has a capacity for 85 megawatts, will be built later in line with its grid connection date, which is in 2029 (although that date could be earlier).
