The Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas has announced a $25 million commitment to Tailwater Infrastructure CV I, managed by Tailwater Capital.
The opportunistic fund launched in September, according to a filing with the SEC.
Tailwater Capital is a Dallas-based private equity firm with approximately $5 billion in committed capital and a strong track record in energy and infrastructure, according to the firm’s website. Through a research-driven, full immersion approach, Tailwater partners with top management teams to build scalable, sustainable assets that address bottlenecks in the market.
Neither a specific investment strategy nor fundraising target for Tailwater Infrastructure CV I could be determined at the time of publication.
Texas TRS did confirm that Tailwater Capital represents a new manager relationship for the pension fund.
