Texas TRS invests $100m in Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VII

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has committed $100 million to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VII, a vehicle of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, according to investment correspondence.

The closed-end fund’s strategy is to invest in diversified infrastructure assets in North America. The fund aims to raise $7 billion. Its predecessor, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VI, closed with $8 billion in equity in 2025.

Texas TRS, a public pension fund, had $235.2 billion in total assets under management with a 6 percent infrastructure allocation target, as of Dec. 31, 2025. As of June 30, 2025, it had $14.4 billion in total infrastructure assets.
