Texas TRS commits $100m to Blackstone Infrastructure Partners Europe

by Elise Mackanych

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has committed $100 million to infrastructure investments, including funds managed by Blackstone Infrastructure Advisors.

Blackstone Infrastructure Partners Europe is an open-end core, core-plus fund that aims to raise €1 billion ($1.2 billion) to €2 billion ($2.3 billion). More than 2.2 percent of the fund’s total capital commitment will be invested alongside external investors. The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System committed €200 million ($222 million) to this fund in 2024.

Texas TRS, a public pension fund, had $233.5 billion in total assets under management, as of March 31. As of then, it had a 6 percent infrastructure allocation target, with $15.9 billion in total infrastructure assets.
