Singapore-based Temasek has agreed to invest approximately $400 million in the National Investment Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), a fund created by the Indian government to finance infrastructure in the country.
The fund invests in core infrastructure sectors in India with a focus on transportation, energy and urban infrastructure.
Other investors include Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), HDFC Group, ICICI Bank Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance and Axis Bank Ltd.
With this investment, NIIF Master Fund is now one of the largest infrastructure funds in India.
