Telecoms and renewables shown to be the most resilient to global pandemics

A new whitepaper from Foresight Group found that infrastructure subsectors, such as fiber, data centers, primary care and offshore wind, have proven to be the most resilient to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Foresight Group considered 23 subsectors of economic and social infrastructure for the report. The paper revealed that although infrastructure itself has proved to be largely pandemic resilient, the results vary significantly by sub-sector.

All of the telecommunications and renewables sub-sectors within energy and utilities have been found to exhibit the greatest resilience to global pandemics. In addition, primary care also scores highly, although largely its resilience does not correlate with the rest of the social infrastructure subsectors.
