TC Energy Corp. has launched a $1.2 billion expansion of its NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) and Foothills systems, which span British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, to send gas to downstream markets.
The West Path Delivery Program will connect the systems with the $335 million GTN XPress Project recently announced by TC PipeLines. The $1.2 billion to be invested will go to fund 119 kilometers (74 miles) of pipeline and associated facilities.
According to TC Energy, the program is underpinned by 258 million cubic feet per day of new firm service contracts with terms that exceed 30 years, scheduled to commence between Q4 2022 and Q4 2023.
The program will bring TC Energy’s sanctioned expansions of NGTL and Foothills infrastructure to $10 billion, according to Russ Girling, president and CEO.
