Tata Power assumes management of power distribution in Northeastern Odisha

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, has taken over the management and operations of North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha (NESCO).

NESCO will now operate under the company name as TP Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPNODL). Tata Power holds 51 percent of equity with management control and the State-owned GRIDCO will have 49 percent equity stake in the company.

TPNODL will now be responsible for the distribution and retail supply of electricity in five circles of NESCO, covering gnarly 2 million consumers with annual input energy of 5450 MUs, covering an area of 27,500 square kilometers (10,600 square miles) in the Balasore, Bhadrak, Baripada, Jajpur and Keonjhar areas.
