Switzer-CARTY Transportation makes foray into U.S. market with acquisition of Agnes Corp.

by Kali Arevalo

Switzer-CARTY Transportation Services, a privately held school bus company in Ontario and a portfolio company of Terramont Infrastructure Partners, has completed its acquisition of Minnesota-based Agnes Corp. and its group of operating subsidiaries.

Agnes Corp. is a family-owned student transportation operator headquartered in Owatonna, Minn.

The transaction marks Switzer-CARTY’s official entry into the U.S. market, expanding its footprint across nine school district contract regions in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. This also represents the first U.S. expansion for a Canadian student transportation operator.

Switzer-CARTY confirmed all necessary regulatory approvals, including final authorization from the U.S. Surface Transportation Board, have been completed. Financial terms were not disclosed.
