Switzer-Carty Transportation hires Reid Oyster to drive growth in U.S. school bus market

Reid Oyster is joining Switzer-Carty Transportation, the fastest-growing privately held school bus company in Ontario, Canada, to drive growth in the U.S. school bus transportation market.

Switzer-Carty Transportation was incorporated in July 2011, and purchased the School Bus Division of Parkinson Coach Lines of Brampton, Ontario, in September the same year, starting with 58 buses transporting approximately 5,500 students for two Peel School Boards.

Switzer-Carty now transports more than 96,000 students for 23 public and private school boards daily.

Oyster brings a long history in school busing to Switzer-Carty, having grown up in the family business at Apple Bus Company, where he worked alongside his father since 2000 to grow the company to more than 1,500 buses operating in more than eight U.S. states across 33 locations. This growth resulted in a successful exit of the business in 2022.
