Arcus’ Swiss4net signs fiber-to-the-home deal with Swiss municipality

Swiss4net, a Swiss fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) business that was bought out by Arcus Infrastructure Partners in 2018, has signed an agreement with the municipality of Ascona in the Ticino Canton region of Switzerland to construct a new network using the town’s existing utility duct infrastructure.

According to Arcus Infrastructure, only some 35 percent of Swiss premises have access to FTTH. The project is expected to connect some 7,200 premises in the municipality of Ascona.

“This offers a unique proposition for the communities who don’t have fiber access yet to eliminate the digital divide and we look forward to announcing more projects in due course,” said Romain Roirand, Arcus senior investment director and asset manager for Swiss4net.
