Swiss Life acquires clean energy investment manager, Fontavis

Swiss Life Asset Managers has acquired Swiss-based Fontavis, a clean energy and infrastructure funds investment manager, in an effort to strengthen its foothold in the infrastructure market. A purchase price was not disclosed.

Fontavis specializes in sustainable direct investments in predominantly unlisted companies in the renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy infrastructure sectors in Switzerland and Europe at large.

Fontavis focuses its efforts on the areas of hydropower, wind parks, power grids, local heat networks and district heating grids, solar installations, recycling plants, and other infrastructure investments.

Fontavis manages three clean energy infrastructure funds with capital commitments of more than $1 billion on behalf of institutional investors, such as public and private pension funds, collective foundations, insurers, banks, charities, and collective investments.
