Solar energy supplier SunSource Energy has plans to commence construction on a 70-megawatt solar project in Uttar Pradesh, a state in Northern India.
The project, valued at INR 300 crore ($44 million), is part of a slew of 200 megawatts of solar projects SunSource has agreed to develop in the region, according to Energy World.
Once commissioned, the project will be along the largest open-access solar projects in the state. It is designed to reduce customers’ energy bills and meet Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets.
Power will be sold through long-term PPA’s to commercial and industrial customers.
The entire solar project is expected to cost an estimated INR 900 crore ($130.9 million).
