Stonepeak-backed Digital Edge raises $1.6b to fund platform expansion

Digital Edge (Singapore), a developer and operator of interconnection and hyperscale edge data centers across Asia and a portfolio company of Stonepeak, has raised more than $1.6 billion in new capital through a combination of equity and debt financing to fuel its next phase of growth.

The capital raise included approximately $640 million of equity investment from both existing and new investors, as well as $1 billion of total debt financing across multiple campus expansions. The equity raise was significantly oversubscribed, with backing from some of the world’s largest institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds as new co-investors.

Digital Edge was established in early 2020 and currently owns and operates 21 data centers with more than 500 megawatts of critical IT load in service and under construction and development, and another 300 megawatts held for future development, across strategic locations in Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philip
