Quinbrook, a specialist investment manager focused exclusively on energy and digital infrastructure, has completed construction and commenced commercial operations on stage two of its Supernode battery storage project in Queensland.
Supernode is strategically located adjacent to the central node of the electricity network in Queensland and is one of the largest battery energy storage projects under construction in Australia on an energy capacity basis.
Stage two is now operating under a long-term tolling agreement with Origin Energy. Stages one and two have a combined capacity of 520 megawatts/1,858 megawatt-hours. Combined, the two stages comprise the largest operating battery energy storage system in Australia’s National Electricity Market.
