Green hydrogen company Ohmium International has forged an agreement with a Spanish energy efficiency company, Efficiency for LNG Applications (E4Efficiency), to provide green hydrogen for the Huelva project in Andalusia, Spain.
Huelva LNG is an onshore operational regas terminal. The facility was commissioned in 1988, and the terminal has been expanded several times, according to Wood Mackenzie. In 2007 it reached its current capacity of 9.1 million metric tonnes per annum.
The hydrogen project will supply up to 52 tons of green hydrogen annually to replace the methane used in the gas flare pilot flame of Huelva LNG regasification terminal, and it could potentially have other uses in the future. This is expected to mitigate up to 343 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
“Green hydrogen is the key to enabling the European Union to take control of its energy future,” said Arne Ballantine, CEO of Ohmium International. “Ohmium is helping to accelerate
