Renta Corporación, a Spanish real estate company specialized in the acquisition, refurbishment and sale of real estate properties in the cities of Barcelona and Madrid, is planning to build a data center in Barcelona, according to Data Center Dynamics.
The company has acquired a 16,500-square-meter (177,600-square-foot) parcel of land that currently houses chemical plants, on which it plans to build a 10,000-square-meter (107,639-square-foot) data center and three industrial warehouses.
Renta Corporación collected a €2.4 million ($2.8 million) profit in first half 2021, according to a July 21 statement. As a result of significant transactions in both Madrid and Barcelona, the company now has a business portfolio valued at €169.1 million ($200 million), a 30 percent increase on its year-end value in 2020.
