Solar and battery storage project to be delivered in San Diego

San Diego Community Power (SDCP), a community choice aggregator serving five cities in the San Diego region, has signed a power-purchase agreement (PPA) with an affiliate of RAI Energy International, a global renewable energy development company based in Northern California’s Silicon Valley, for a solar and battery energy storage project located in Imperial County, Calif.

The project, known as Vikings Energy Farm, is an integrated 100-megawatt solar photovoltaic energy project that includes up to 150 megawatts of battery energy storage. The project will provide SDCP with a 20-year supply of renewable energy and will help power the equivalent of 50,000 homes.
