Snam, an Italian energy company operating natural gas transport, storage and regasification facilities, has plans to buy a 48.2 percent interest in OLT Offshore LNG Toscana from Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
The total consideration of the acquisition, which includes Igneo’s interest as well as the remaining part of the shareholder loan provided by Igneo to OLT, is equal to approximately €126 million ($148 million). After the transaction closes, Snam will hold a total stake of 97.3 percent.
OLT owns and operates the FSRU Toscana, a floating LNG regasification terminal that was converted from an LNG tanker. Igneo considers the FSRU Toscana a core infrastructure asset for the importation of LNG to the Italian energy system.
