SL Capital Partners, a private markets arm of global asset manager Aberdeen Standard Investments, has agreed to acquire Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V.’s (NAM) 18 percent interest in the Noordgastransport (NGT) Extension system, a pipeline transporting natural gas that is principally produced from the Dutch Continental Shelf.
The acquisition will be funded through SL Capital’s infrastructure fund, SL Capital Infrastructure I. The fund is focused on investing in core infrastructure assets in Europe and already holds five other investments including hydroelectric plants in Norway, a gas distribution business in Finland, and new trains across the United Kingdom. The fund held a £516 million ($693 million) final close earlier this year, ahead of its initial £400 million ($537 million) equity fundraising target.
